Son Heung-min told to leave Tottenham after 3-1 defeat to Arsenal

Former Tottenham striker Peter Crouch has told Son Heung-min to consider leaving the club, adding that South Korean does not get as much respect he deserves.

He wondered how Spurs have been able to keep Son out of the clutches of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Son won last season’s Premier League Golden Boot and has scored over a century of goals for the North London club.

The South Korean international was kept on the bench for his side’s game against Leicester prior to the international break.

He responded with a devastating hat-trick in a blistering 13-minute second-half spell when he was brought on later on in the game.

Tottenham.boss, Antonio Conte started Son in his starting XI against Arsenal on Saturday.

Tottenham were defeated 3-1 in the game with goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus, and Granit Xhaka and Crouch suggested that Spurs fans have been fortunate to enjoy his goalscoring talents for such an extended period.

He said: “He has been snatching at things but that hat-trick against Leicester was the Son of last season.

“I think he needs to have more respect on his name.

“He is one goal behind Teddy Sheringham – who was a legend for Tottenham. Son too will become a legend I think, if he is not already.

“The funny thing it Tottenham don’t seem to have had a problem keeping him. I don’t know why the top top clubs in Europe don’t come in for him – he is that good.”
