PSG: Grow up, you take things personal – Arsenal legend tells Mbappe

Arsenal legend, Emmanuel Petit, has urged Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe, to grow up amid the controversies surrounding him at the French Ligue 1 champions this season.

Petit said Mbappe takes things personally all the time at PSG, adding that the France international needs to be calmer with his teammates.

Mbappe, 23, has struggled to stay away from controversies recently, particularly since he signed a new contract extension with PSG.

A lot has been said about Mbappe’s feud with his teammate Neymar in the media.

Mbappe also made headlines when he took aim at PSG manager Christophe Galtier after the team’s 0-0 draw against Stade Reims last weekend.

“In recent weeks, I find him [Mbappe] out of touch in his communication. I find that he is moving more and more from the central subject, which is the game and the pitch,” Petit said on RMC Sport.

“He is making it more and more personal. Of course, I hear rumours that promises have not been kept, but I want to tell him: ‘Kylian, grow up, that is life.”

He added, “It is the same every day. You are made promises that nobody keeps most of the time, does that mean you have to stop working and question everything? Of course not. That is what we call everyday life, the life of grown-ups, the life of adults.

“Kylian, the sooner you sort out your problems with yourself, the sooner your performances on the pitch will improve and your relations with the public and your teammates will be calmer.”
