Man Utd scouting teenage Benfica defender Antonio Silva

Manchester United are scouting teenage Benfica defender Antonio Silva.

United have taken an interest in the 18-year-old and see him as a potential star of the future.

The young defender played the full 90 against PSG's superstars in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Silva impressed as he and his fellow defenders held firm against Lionel Messi and co in a surprise 1-1 draw in Portugal.

United had scouts in the stands watching the teen as they plot a potential transfer, says the Mirror.

The player is seen as a real prospect who still has space to develop his skillset.

But Silva does have a contract at the Stadium of Light until 2027.

But in a boost for Erik ten Hag, his deal includes a release clause that could allow him to be signed for only £13m.

Benfica would reportedly consider selling the star next summer - but not in January.
