Man Utd captain Maguire: Great to be back in action

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire is happy to be back in action.

Maguire says he's delighted to be back out on the pitch, after making his return from injury in Thursday's 3-0 win over Sheriff Tiraspol.

"It's great to be back," he said in an interview with club media. “Being injured is always a tough part of being a footballer, but I've been kicking every ball on the sidelines, cheering every goal that's gone in and supporting the lads.

“We've picked up some good results and we're pushing [to] where we want to be in the Premier League as well.

“We've got important games coming up and that's what it's all about."

After being on the sidelines for a number of weeks, due to an injury sustained during international duty with England at the start of September, Maguire says he's ready to help the Reds progress towards our objectives.

“It's tough [being injured]," he said. “I support the lads whether I'm playing, whether I'm watching at home or whether I'm in the stands. I kick every ball and I cheer every goal.

“As a footballer you want to play games and you want to be available to help the team, so it's nice to be back on the training pitch, it's nice to get some minutes tonight and that's what it's all about. It's about helping the team move forward."
