Ex-Juventus president Cobolli Gigli: Players expect Allegri to be fired

Former Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli feels coach Max Allegri has lost the dressing room.

Cobolli Gigli believes the players are convinced Allegri will soon be sacked.

And he says president Andrea Agnelli should've publicly supported Allegri sooner than this week, "Had he exposed himself long before as Juventus president, perhaps he would have been able to dispel doubts in the minds of the players and reinforce team cohesion.

"My impression is that there is malaise within the group and there is a feeling that Allegri is about to be sent away. The players, therefore, are disoriented and do not form cohesion. There is a very important figure in Juventus, who currently holds the position of vice president (Pavel Nedved), who with his words spoke of the performance not up to the level of the team and tried to encourage its members.

"These interventions had to be made by the coach, otherwise it just creates confusion and that's it."
