Everton striker Calvert-Lewin excited about summer arrivals

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has revealed how the club's transfer business left him excited for the new season.

The center-forward has been dealing with several injury issues over the past 12 months.

However, Calvert-Lewin is now fully fit and ready to contribute to the team.

The club's summer signings included Neal Maupay, Idrissa Gueye, James Garner, Amadou Onana, along with defenders James Tarkowski and Conor Coady.

“I have been looking forward to stepping back into the team, I have been watching the games and seeing the energy we have been playing with in the midfield," Calvert-Lewin stated about recruitment.

“It has been a joy to watch at times. It has been pure excitement to get back into the team because I know what I can do and what I can affect."

He added: “You saw it in the performance today [win over Crystal Palace]. Like I say, the squad's improved. The level's gone up and that creates more competition in training, for places, for games.

“Ultimately that makes the team more competitive and produces better performances on the weekend."
