EPL: Thomas Partey unreliable, replace him in January – Jenas tells Arsenal

Former Newcastle United and Tottenham player, Jermaine Jenas has told Arsenal to replace Ghanaian midfielder, Thomas Partey in the January transfer window.

Arsenal defeated their north London rivals, Tottenham on Saturday as they ran out 3-1 winners over Antonio Conte’s side at the Emirates Stadium.

Partey was one of the scorers of Arsenal’s goals against Spurs and was named the ‘man of the match’ by the club’s supporters but Jenas believes the midfielder is unreliable.

The former Nottingham Forest forward Jenas said the Gunners need to strengthen their central midfield options in order to maintain their current form.

“You can’t rely on him,” Jenas said of Partey on Vibe with Five.

“If I was Edu that would be the first position I’m going for in January, or the summer [transfer window], because you can’t rely on him.”

The victory over Spurs was Arsenal’s seventh win of the season, which kept them atop of the Premier League table with Manchester City breathing down their necks after an emphatic 6-3 win over Manchester United at the weekend.
