Serie A: Angel di Maria blames one person for Juventus’ shock defeat to Monza

Juventus winger, Angel di Maria, has blamed himself for his team’s Serie A 1-0 shock defeat to Monza last weekend.

Di Maria received a red card during the encounter at the Stadio Brianteo as Christian Gytkjaer’s goal gave the hosts all three points against Juventus.

Reacting, the Argentine international, in a post via his Instagram account, also apologized to everyone for his inappropriate reaction on the field of play.

“I want to apologize to everyone for this inappropriate reaction I had on the field,” the former Real Madrid, Juventus and Man United star wrote.

“Leaving the team with one less in such a difficult moment of the championship made us lose the game. Losing is only my fault. I’m so sorry.

“I am a professional but also a human being who makes mistakes and knows how to recognize them.”

Meanwhile, Di Maria’s wife, Jorgelina Cardoso, later defended her husband.

She posted: “Making mistakes is everyone’s fault, accepting the mistake and apologizing is a virtue of a few …”
