I disobeyed Tuchel against Real Madrid – Pulisic

Chelsea winger, Christian Pulisic has revealed he ignored Thomas Tuchel’s instruction against Real Madrid in the Champions League last season.

Pulisic netted for the Blues as the game ended 1-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The American has now recounted Tuchel’s orders as he embarked on the run for the goal.

“As I take off on the run, I hear Thomas Tuchel yelling from the sideline, ‘Christian, stay in the pocket, don’t make the run!’

“But I just had the feeling I’d find the space and get on the end of the pass, so I continued the run,” Pulisic wrote in his upcoming book ‘Christian Pulisic: My Journey So Far’.

Pulisic did come off the bench in the second leg against Madrid and assisted in Chelsea’s second goal during the 2-0 win.

Despite the change in coach, Pulisic was only a late substitute in Graham Potter’s first game in charge, a 1-1 draw with FC Salzburg in the Champions League last week.
