Former Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Turkey midfielder Arda Turan has retired from football.
The enigmatic Turkish midfielder excelled with Atletico in La Liga, putting in his best displays when the team won La Liga and reached the Champions League final in 2013/2014.
He eventually moved to Barcelona in a big money deal, but failed to replicate that form at his new team.
He did spend five years with Barca, winning several trophies, despite not being a regular in the team.
"It has been an amazing journey for me, for my mother, for my father, for my brother, my wife and my children. I hope it has been for you as well," Turan said.
"It was difficult, but it was beautiful. I give my dues to everyone who loves me, values me while playing, values me and hates me."
