EPL: Arsene Wenger names serious contender to win title this season

Former Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger has insisted that Arsenal should not be ruled out of the Premier League title race this season.

Arsenal have only lost one of their six league matches this season and that was against Manchester United at Old Trafford before Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

The signing of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City, while Fabio Vieira also joined in a £34m deal from Porto have immediately strengthened Mikel Arteta’s side.

And their former boss, Wenger believes the Gunners now have a shot at the title this season, adding that neither Manchester City or Liverpool are ‘completely dominating’

“I would say they are moving in the right direction,” Wenger told The Sun.

“I honestly think there is no weak position in the team… they are young, promising players and they have bought well this year.

“There is no completely dominating team this season and Arsenal has a chance with the potential that is there.

“We used to be in the top four and why not again? You cannot even rule out the fact that they can fight for the title and hopefully they can do it.”
