We’re not going to win because of Haaland – Guardiola

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has tried to take pressure off Erling Haaland ahead of his Premier League debut this weekend.

Haaland arrived from Borussia Dortmund for a £51million fee this summer.

The Norway striker was criticized for his performance in the Community Shield defeat to Liverpool.

But Guardiola, speaking ahead of the trip to West Ham on Sunday, insisted Haaland will not be the reason they win or lose.

“I don’t know how many goals he will score and I don’t care,” Guardiola said.

“We are not going to win because of Erling and we are not going to lose because of him.”
