Warnock ready to come out of retirement to manage Sunderland

Veteran manager Neil Warnock is now ready to come out of retirement.

The journeyman coach announced his retirement only nine months ago.

However, he appears willing to step back into the hot seat to help Championship side Sunderland.

The Black Cats have lost boss Alex Neil, who left for Stoke City with immediate effect.

The Sun reports that Warnock is ready for a chance to take the Black Cats to safety this season, and possibly back into the Premier League in a year or two.

He has informed Sporting Director Kristjaan Speakman of his desire to take the job, but whether he will be interviewed is not yet clear.
