Transfer deadline: Champions League club takes final decision on signing Cristiano Ronaldo

UEFA Champions League club, Napoli, have taken a final decision on signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United with few hours left before the summer transfer window closes.

Ronaldo is still linked with a move away from Man United as the summer transfer window approaches its end.

The five-time Ballon d’ Or winner is keen to compete in the UEFA Champions League, a competition Man United cannot give him this season after the Red Devils finished in the sixth position on the Premier League table last term.

Napoli, who will participate in the Champions League this season are one of the top clubs said to be interested in the 37-year-old.

However, Napoli has dismissed the possibility of signing Ronaldo from Man United before Thursday’s cut-off point, according to Il Mattino.

Ronaldo has been linked with the Serie A club over the last few weeks as he desperately seeks a move away from Old Trafford to play Champions League football this season.

It seems the former Real Madrid and Juventus star will be forced to look elsewhere, with Napoli unwilling to bring him back to Italy before the summer window closes.
