Southampton boss Hasenhuttl coy over plans for Arsenal midfielder Maitland-Niles

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl was coy yesterday about a move for Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Hasenhuttl was keen to stress this would be the last he discussed rumours ahead of an important match, but did admit there will be movement in the next seven days.

He said: “I don't want to speak about rumours or any transfer news questions also, we play against United on the weekend which is a big game.

“The transfer market is still open yes but I try to bring the focus on a very important game for us and for the next weeks, a game that can give us the direction."

Hasenhuttl continued: “Especially for me it is very important for me to focus on this work rather than rumours around who is going where.

“You can be sure, and this is the last thing I will say on the transfer market, in this final six days there will come players in and there will go players out.

“I don't know who goes in and goes out, but I am sure there will be movement in both directions."
