Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici is attempting to open talks with Roma over a fee for Nicolo Zaniolo.
Paratici has been trying to hold talks with Roma for the midfielder since the weekend friendly in Israel.
Although Spurs seemingly want to make the 23-year-old their seventh summer signing, indications are that they may fail as Jose Mourinho's side remain adamant in their stance, says Calciomercato.com.
Tottenham have seen another request for information regarding Roma's Zaniolo rejected outright by the Serie A outfit.
The report goes on to indicate that as it currently stands, Spurs will not splurge £50m on the midfielder with Roma holding firm on their valuation.
