EPL: ‘Use me’ – Jurgen Klopp reveals conversation with Fernandes as Man United beat Liverpool

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has revealed his conversion with Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes after the Red Devils defeated Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday evening.

Going into last night’s game, Liverpool were riding on the back of two draws, while Manchester United were defeated twice.

But the Red Devils showed character and put in an extra-ordinary performance to beat Liverpool and record their first win of the new Premier League season, with goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.

Mohamed Salah pulled a goal back but it was not enough as Liverpool ran out of time to seal a draw.

Fernandes and Salah were involved in an altercation after the United midfielder refused to give the ball to the Liverpool forward after scoring.

Klopp appeared frustrated with United’s time wasting in the final stages and after the final whistle, Klopp approached the Portugal international and put his hands around the neck of the United midfielder as the pair shared a few light-hearted words.

During his post match press conference the German was asked about his initial exchange with Fernandes during the game and Klopp said, “It was not animated.

“It was the most harmless conversation I’ve ever had with a player who was as emotional as I maybe was.

“It was the situation with the centre half, [Lisandro] Martinez, where we went down for an ‘awful’ tackle, it was obviously nothing, he made a bit of it, and then he was talking to me and saying, ‘you would do the same’.

“But it was all fine after the game, he told me he needs these kinds of conversations, okay, it’s all fine, use me.”
