EPL: I would’ve sacked you too – Jordan slams dismissed Bournemouth manager

Former Crystal Palace owner, Simon Jordan has backed the sacking of Scott Parker as Bournemouth manager, saying he would have done exactly the same as a club owner.

After beating Aston Villa 2-0 in their first game of the season, Bournemouth have gone on to lose their last three games.

They were hammered 9-0 at Liverpool on Saturday, which set the wheels in motion for Parker’s dismissal by the owner Maxim Demin.

Parker had after the heavy defeat told reporters that the club had not invested enough money in the squad this summer after spending £22.5million on Marcos Senesi and Marcus Tavanier, whilst Ryan Fredericks, Joe Rothwell and Neto were brought in on free transfers.

“Yes, I would have sacked him,” Jordan told talkSPORT when asked if he would have taken the same course of action as Demin.

“I would have told him in the pre-season, ‘Listen, I know it’s not ideal, this is how we’re going to run this football club.

“You have a choice. If you go now, guess who’s going to cop it? Me, I’m going to cop it because ultimately people are going to see you as the all-conquering hero’.

“But I’m prepared to take that risk because I’m going to run this football club. I’m going to give you some money in the summer, I might give you a little bit more in January but we’re not gonna break the bank and we’re not going to spend a lot of money.”
