Cardiff City boss rules out Collins for rest of season

Cardiff City defender, Jamilu Collins will miss the remainder of the campaign over an injury.

The Nigeria international limped off the pitch in the opening minutes of Cardiff City’s 0-0 draw against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Monday.

The Welsh club manager, Steve Morison said after the game that he was hopeful the left-back will escape a long-term injury.

Morison has, however, confirmed that the left-back ruptured his ACL and will require surgery which will keep him out for the rest of the season.

We won’t see him again until next season,” Morison was quoted by Walesonline.co.uk.

“It’s gutting for the lad. Really gutting. We are all here for him. We are going to make the next year the best it can possibly be for him.

It’s the worst-case scenario. We will try and get him back for pre-season next year. One thing we do know is we will have one hell of a left-back next season.”

Morison, however, backed the defender to bounce back from the setback.

“On a plus point for him, his family has just moved over and he has his family with him now. The lads will get behind him, he will be around. I’m sure you’ll see his smiling face around the place.
