At 54, I play better than Man United’s Sancho – Paul Merson

Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has slammed Manchester United’s winger, Jadon Sancho over his poor performance for the Red Devils.

Sancho was one of the brightest English talents while at Borussia Dortmund and was known for taking on defenders.

But the player’s performance has obviously dropped since making the switch from the German side to Old Trafford as he hardly dribbles past any player.

And the 54-year-old Merson, who was also a winger during his playing days, said that despite his age, he can do better than the 22-year-old Sancho if given the opportunity to return to the pitch.

I can do what Sancho is doing at the moment and I’m 54. When was the last time you saw him beat a player?

“He doesn’t run with the ball, he takes a few touches inside and lays it backward,” the Arsenal legend told Daily Star.

“These players are getting paid top, top dollar. They are supposed to be elite and the people upstairs are also getting paid fortunes to find them.”
