Serie B FC Sudtirol have snapped up Inter Milan midfielder Marco Pompetti.
Pompetti joins Sudtirol on-loan for the season.
“I'm happy to have joined such a significant club," he said. “During last season I closely followed the exploits of this team as they played in the same division I was in, and they won the group fully deservedly, and very emphatically.
“I am proud to join FC Sudtirol and I'm hoping to get acquainted with my new teammates right away. On my part, I have the desire to always do the best I possibly can."
He added: “I'm pleased to reunite with Matteo Rover, someone with whom I played in the Inter Primavera team, winning great results including an Under-19 title and the Torneo di Viareggio trophy.
“Matteo was a great teammate and a friend off the pitch. We enjoyed many positive moments together and also shared the harder times, and we always faced them with the right attitude."
“We were school-mates in Milan," Pompetti said of Rover. “I can't wait to meet him and embrace him again."
