Atletico Madrid have placed Antoine Griezmann on the transfer market as part of an attempt to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Spanish football, according to The Times.
The 31-year-old is midway through a two-season loan deal from Barcelona that includes a "compulsory permanent transfer clause" of €40 million.
Atletico need to ease their wage bill in order to afford Ronaldo, and The Times claim Ronaldo would be open to coming back to the city in which he enjoyed so much success across nine seasons at Real Madrid.
The 37-year-old is said to have been impressed by the head coach Diego Simeone's eagerness to work with him.
