Lionel Messi inspired Argentina to their second international trophy within one year, as they defeated Italy 3-0 in the 2022 Finalissima on Wednesday night.
The Albiceleste ended their 18-year drought with silverware when they won the Copa America title in July 2021.
That title ensured their participation in the 2022 Finalissima against Italy, the European champions.
Messi rolled back the years as he provided the assist for Lautaro Martinez to open the scoring two minutes before the half-hour mark.
Just before the interval, Martinez turned provider for Angel Di Maria, who dinked a glorious finish over Gianlugi Donnarumma.
Substitute Paulo Dybala added a third goal later on in the game after a Messi effort on goal was blocked.
