Man Utd pinpoint Bachmann to replace Nottingham Forest target Henderson

Manchester United are eyeing Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann to serve as their backup next season.

The Red Devils are close to loaning current no.2 Dean Henderson to Nottingham Forest for the entire season.

The Manchester Evening News reports that as soon as Henderson makes his move, United will launch an offer for Bachmann.

United see the Austrian as the ideal experienced keeper to serve as understudy to David De Gea next season.

Bachmann may believe he has a good chance of playing in cup matches for United, including the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, and the Europa League group stages.

For his part, Henderson wanted to move to Newcastle United, but they are close to securing Nick Pope from Burnley.
