Jules Kounde's recent surgery has not deterred Chelsea from pursuing their transfer plans.
The Sevilla defender is wanted by Blues manager Thomas Tuchel after the loss of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.
Kounde had an operation on his groin on Tuesday after coming off during France's loss to Croatia in the Nations League.
But the surgery will not impact Chelsea's desire to sign Kounde this summer, according to the London Evening Standard.
This is because the surgery was reportedly pre-planned as the defender has been managing an ongoing issue.
Sevilla are ready to sanction the transfer, which will be worth around £50m.
