UCL: You shouldn’t have spoken now – Hamann slams Salah over Real Madrid

Liverpool hero, Didi Hamann has criticised Mohamed Salah for tweeting revenge for Real Madrid.

Following Real Madrid’s defeat of Manchester City on Wednesday night, they will now encounter Liverpool for the Champions League final in Stade de France on May 28.

It would be a repeat of the 2018 showpiece event, where Liverpool was defeated 3-1 by the Spanish giants.

Liverpool defeated Villarreal 5-3 on aggregate while Real Madrid overcame Manchester City 6-5 on aggregate to book their place.

Salah had revealed he wanted to face La Liga giants in the final before the second leg at the Bernabeu

And after the game last night the Egyptian clearly relished the chance to get revenge on Carlo Ancelotti’s men, tweeting after their victory over Manchester City: “We have a score to settle.”

But Hamann wishes Salah had kept quiet until after the final.

“I saw the tweet and I’m not a big fan of it, I’ve got to say,” Hamann told Sky Sports.

“I always prefer when players keep quiet, they can talk after the game. But I understand where he’s coming from. He said before the game he would rather play Madrid, he’s got that now so let’s hope he has a cool head.”
