UCL: Guardiola singles out 4 Real Madrid players, reveals next action after Man City’s elimination

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has singled out four Real Madrid players, Eder Militao, Rodrygo, Vinicius and Karim Benzema during his post-match press conference following his side’s Champions League semi-final defeat against the LaLiga champions on Wednesday.

Guardiola also revealed the next action Man City will take after their elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid.

Man City lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final second leg tie at the Santiago Bernabeu following a brace from Rodrygo and a strike from Benzema.

Riyad Mahrez did score for the Premier League Champions as Guardiola’s men lost 6-5 on aggregate, having won 4-3 in the first leg last week at the Etihad.

Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Guardiola said: “It is simple. In the first-half we didn’t have a game, we were not good enough. But we didn’t suffer much. After we scored the goal we were better. We found out the tempo and our game and the players were comfortable.”

“It’s not like in the last 10 minutes they attack and attack and you suffer. It didn’t happen. They put a lot of players in the box, with Militao, Rodrygo, Vinicius, Benzema and they put in crosses and scored two goals.

“Now we need to process that and come back, with our people at home and the last four games we have.”
