Pardew to remain CSKA Sofia manager next season

Alan Pardew will stay on as CSKA Sofia manager next season, despite overseeing just one win in his first five games.

Sky Sports News has been told Pardew has held constructive meetings with the club’s owner since Sunday’s defeat in the Bulgarian cup final and been assured there is money available to strengthen the squad this summer.

The former Newcastle, West Ham, Southampton and Crystal Palace boss told Sky Sports News he is keen on a return to management in England in the future but was determined to stay on in Sofia if he feels he has a squad capable of competing with the likes of Ludogorets, who are 20 points ahead of CSKA in the league table.

CSKA are guaranteed second place in the first division and Europa League football next season.
