Murdryk rejects Bees and only wants Bayer

Mykhaylo Mudryk says he has rejected Brentford and decided Bayer Leverkusen is the “only club” he wants to join if he leaves Shakhtar Donetsk.

He has told Ukrainian football publication SportArena: “With all due respect, I'm definitely not going to Brentford.

“This is a mid-table Premier League club that does not take part in European Cups, and for me, the most important moment is participation in the Champions League.

“My representatives and I thanked Brentford for this proposal, but we withdrew from the negotiations a long time ago. The issue of moving to Brentford is clearly closed.

“I am a Shakhtar player, but if the club accepts Bayer's offer, it would be great.

“For myself, I decided that this is the only club I want to join; German championship, a young ambitious team, a strong coach, the Champions League, a new challenge. If not, I will stay at Shakhtar.

“I will repeat once again that I am a Shakhtar player and it is my job to play, and the decision on my transfer will be made by Shakhtar's leadership. I am focused on football. Now all my thoughts on the national team of Ukraine and Shakhtar.”
