FA Cup: I missed penalty but who cares – Mane hails Liverpool star for saving him

Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane hailed his teammate Alisson Becker for saving him.

The Brazilian saved a penalty from Cesar Azpilicueta, which gave Mane the opportunity to seal the victory for Liverpool but the Senegalese played the ball into his compatriot and Chelsea goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy.

The Brazilian goalkeeper then saved another from Mason Mount to save the Africa Cup of Nations winner from the troubled waters.

Kostas Tsimikas stepped forward to stroke home the decisive penalty for Liverpool who claimed their second domestic trophy of the season, beating Chelsea in both.

Mane told BBC after the game, “I think all the credit to Alisson because myself I missed the penalty but who cares. The most important thing is to win the cup and we did it.

“Alisson, all the credit for him. I am happy for him and we are all happy and proud.”
