EPL: There’s a lot to be done – Erik ten Hag snubs Ajax, resumes work at Man United

Erik ten Hag has snubbed Ajax’s squad victory party and is heading to Manchester United instead.

Ajax squad and their outgoing manager, Ten Hag were slated for their post-season trip to Curacao but the Dutchman has shunned the trip and will begin work with Manchester United on Monday.

The 52-year-old, who originally was supposed to resume at Old Trafford in the summer, took charge of his final game with Ajax on Sunday as they drew 2-2 with Vitesse.

Ajax’s squad are due to travel to Curacao for a friendly against the national side, as well as to fulfil sponsorship commitments.

But the Dutchman has opted to travel to England in order to begin his preparations with Manchester United ahead of next season, insisting there are a lot of things to be done.

United interim boss, Ralf Rangnick is expected to guide the team in their remaining two Premier League games.

“Tomorrow there will be a party with the staff but I’m not going to Curacao this week,’ Ten Hag told the Dutch press on Sunday after the game

“There is a lot of work that still needs to be done. I think that’s understandable. This applies to every [new] club.

“A number of things still need to be organised with the staff and also with the squad. We will be working intensively on that from tomorrow.”
