EPL: It hurts – Perry Groves on Arsenal losing Champions League spot to Tottenham

Arsenal legend, Perry Groves, has given his verdict on the club set to miss the Champions League spot to Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal’s hopes of finishing in the Premier League top-four this season are hanging in the balance following a recent run of poor results.

Mikel Arteta’s side looks set to lose the fourth Champions League spot to city rivals Tottenham.

After losing to Tottenham and Newcastle United, Arsenal are now in the fifth position on the Premier League table.

With only one game to go, Antonio Conte’s side realistically needs a draw in their final match this weekend to qualify for the Champions League ahead of Arsenal.

And Groves has now admitted that it hurts, adding that it is like finding out your wife is going to leave you.

“It hurts. It is like finding out your wife is going to leave you,” Grooves told the Sports Bar, as quoted by talkSPORT.

“It is not like she’s running away with your best friend, it is like she’s running away with the person who used to bully you at school. That’s how bad it is. That’s how dark I feel,” he added.
