Real Madrid forward, Vinicius Jr. has revealed his strike partner, Karim Benzema as his preferred choice to win the Ballon d’Or this year.
Vinicius made the revelation on Twitter when he responded to Benzema’s tweet praising the fantastic support the team received during their Champions League semi-final second leg 3-1 win against Manchester City on Wednesday.
The Brazilian international replied ‘Karim balón de oro.’
His tweet surely echoes the sentiment shared by many who believe the France international deserves to be named the best player in the world this year.
Benzema ensured that Real Madrid progressed to a 17th UEFA Champions League final in their second leg Champions League semi-final clash against Man City.
The former Lyon star won and converted a penalty in the fifth minute of extra-time, to win the game 3-1 and ensured that Carlo Ancelotti’s men qualified for the final on a 6-5 aggregate win.
Benzema is currently the top goal scorer in the Champions League with 15 goals.
He will hope to lead the Los Blancos to victory when they face Liverpool in the final later this month in Paris.
