UCL: Adrian Durham makes Ballon d’Or claim after Benzema’s goal against Man City

Veteran English football journalist and broadcaster, Adrian Durham, has named the favourite football star to win this season’s Ballon d’Or following the Champions League semi-final clash between Manchester City and Real Madrid on Tuesday.

Benzema scored two brilliant goals against Manchester City to keep the Galaticos’ hope of playing in the final in Stade de France.

The Premier League side defeated the Spanish giants 4-3 at the Etihad and will go into the reverse fixture in Spain with a slight advantage.

Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva scored for Pep Guardiola’s side but Benzema fired in twice, while Vinicius Junior’s solo effort ensured that Carlo Ancelotti’s side returned home in full confidence.

Benzema’s strike prompted talkSPORT’s Durham to say: “Ballon d’Or incoming, surely?”

The Frenchman has now scored 41 goals for Real Madrid this season and did it in style as he brilliantly made it 4-3 with a Panenka penalty, a strike labelled ‘unbelievable’ by talkSPORT’s Trevor Sinclair.
