Barcelona’s faint hopes of catching up with rivals, Real Madrid at the top of LaLiga table suffered a huge blow on Monday, as they slipped to a shock 1-0 home defeat to relegation-threatened Cadiz.
Lucas Perez netted the only goal of the game at the Nou Camp.
Real’s stunning 3-2 comeback win at Sevilla on Sunday extended their advantage over Barca in second to 15 points.
Barca were expected to beat Cadiz and reduce Los Blancos’ lead, however, they suffered their first loss in 16 league fixtures since December.
The Catalans still have 60 points from 31 games, 15 behind Real who have one hand on the trophy.
An unexpected win for Cadiz in Catalonia lifted them out of the relegation zone and up to 16th on 31 points from 32 matches.
