He could be new Klopp or Guardiola – Parlour tells Man United best manager to appoint

Former Arsenal midfielder, Ray Parlour has urged Man United to appoint Erik ten Hag as their next permanent manager.

Parlour believes Ten Hag could become the new Jurgen Klopp or Pep Guardiola at Old Trafford if he is appointed Manchester United manager next season.

Ten Hag, who is currently in charge of Ajax, has emerged as the favourite candidate among senior figures at Old Trafford to replace Ralf Rangnick in the summer.

Manchester United have spoken to the Dutchman and Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauricio Pochettino, but it appears that the former will be in charge of the Premier League giants next season.

“The most important thing is getting the right manager. They look like they HAve got (Erik) ten Hag, I think that is a really good manager to get into your club. At Ajax, he’s done really well,” Parlour told TalkSPORT.

“The way they play is quite exciting, so I think he is going to try to bring that style to Manchester United.”

“I would go with Ten Hag if I am being honest. I would give him a go. He could be the new Klopp or Guardiola, who knows. Then it is down to a big overhaul of the whole club. Not just the first team but the academy and everything going on with Manchester United.

“You have got to start again, really. If they are ever going to get closer to Manchester City and Liverpool, they have got to have a plan going forward,” he added.
