FA Cup: You should’ve been sent off for stupid dive – O’Hara slams Chelsea star

Former Tottenham Hotspur star, Jamie O’Hara has slammed Chelsea star forward, Kai Havertz, following the Blues’ FA Cup semi-final 2-0 win against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

O’Hara said that Havertz should have been sent off for a ‘stupid’ dive against Crystal Palace during the encounter at Wembley Stadium.

Recall that two goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount gave Chelsea the win over Palace.

Chelsea will now face Liverpool in the FA Cup final next month.

However, Chelsea struggled to break down a disciplined Crystal Palace team in the first half, as desperation appeared to be seeping in when Havertz skipped past defender, Marc Guehi and fell to the ground.

But referee, Anthony Taylor booked the Germany international for simulation, with replays confirming Guehi didn’t touch him.

And O’Hara felt the yellow card was not severe enough punishment, telling Sky Sports that it was a shocking dive from Havertz.

He said, “The referee books him for diving. Now when you watch it back, instantly, you get the replay and you come back and Havertz has dived, it is a shocking dive as well. Absolutely no place for it in the game.

“He has got to book him for it. The Crystal Palace players are going crazy because that for me is such a bad simulation. Not what you want to see in the game, especially at the highest level at a big moment.

“It is actually stupid from him because his first touch takes him past the defender anyway, he’s in. He could get a shot off, he is one-on-one with the keeper almost. Shocking from him, I hate to see it in the game. We need to get it out as quickly as possible. I would have sent him off.”
