EPL: Stay away – Erik ten Hag told not to near Old Trafford after Man United’s 4-0 defeat to Liverpool

Former England winger, Micky Gray, has warned Erik ten Hag not to come anywhere near Manchester United at the moment.

Gray, a former Sunderland winger, issued the warning after watching the Red Devils fall without resistance to Liverpool in the Premier League last night.

Ralf Rangnick’s side were handed a heavy defeat by Liverpool, with goals from Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Luis Diaz deciding the game.

The defeat further raised doubts over the Reds top four finish this season and Gray feels that this was not the right moment for Ten Hag to mount the Old Trafford hot seat.

It looks like Erik ten Hag will be tasked with cleaning up the Man United mess from next season, but the Dutchman was urged by talkSPORT’s Micky Gray to get out while he still can.

“Once upon a time this [Liverpool vs Manchester United] used to be the biggest battle in the Premier League,” he said on talkSPORT.

“Now, there is a gulf and a gap between the two teams like I’ve never seen before.

“Things you can say about Manchester United at the end of this game – no fight, heartless, where’s the desire? Full of quitters.

“Stay away, Erik Ten Hag. You do not want to come to this club at the moment with the squad of players they have right now.”
