EPL: Fresh details emerge of Rangnick’s next role at Man Utd

Ralf Rangnick will work only six days in a month, when he begins a consultancy role at Manchester United this summer, SportsMail reports.

The German, who is currently the interim manager of the first team, has agreed a two-year stay beyond this season.

Although United have remained tight-lipped on the details of his next role, it is understood that it would constitute 144 days’ work should Rangnick remain at Old Trafford until 2024.

The 63-year-old has not been consulted in the Red Devils’ hunt for a permanent manager, with Mauricio Pochettino of Paris Saint-Germain and Ajax’s Erik ten Hag the frontrunners for the job after talks.

Rangnick’s part-time duties at United are likely to depend on which manager is appointed.

But there is a real mystery surrounding what will be expected of him, with Darren Fletcher, John Murtough and Matt Judge in charge of the various aspects of the club’s football operations.
