Former Manchester United striker, Michael Owen, has predicted tonight’s UEFA Champions League fixtures.

Manchester City will host Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final first leg fixture at the Etihad Stadium.

Liverpool will face Benfica in an away Champions League last-eight first leg tie.

Providing his predictions, Owen was quoted by BetVictor as saying: “This should be a good tie for Liverpool. Benfica are a decent side, and that was a brilliant result for them in the last round, knocking out Ajax.

“I don’t think it will be quite that much, I am going for a 3-1 win [for Liverpool].”

Commenting on the Manchester City vs Atletico Madrid match, Owen said: “I’m looking forward to this one, talk about a clash of styles! City are obviously desperate to win this competition and all things considered, this should be a decent draw for them.

“We all know what we will see from Atletico, and they will try and stay in this game for as long as possible. I don’t think we will see a classic at the Etihad that’s for sure, but City should have too much for them. I am going for 2-0 [for Man City].”

The kick-off time for all the matches is 8 pm, Nigerian time.
