The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), has won the 26th edition of the Nigeria University Games(NUGA) 2022, hosted by University of Lagos(UNILAG), Akoka. It emerged victors from a total of 76 Universities across the country.
The institution went home with a trophy for being overall winners, making it the first time a winner would be awarded a trophy in the history of the games. University of Lagos (UNILAG) came second, while Nile University Abuja placed third. They all went home with trophies. Benson Idahosa University has adjudged the Best Behaved University at the games.
In his remarks, Vice-Chancellor, UNILAG, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, noted that the successful hosting of the games ranks Nigeria, the institution, and Nigerian students among the best in the world.
