He gave you what he felt – Arteta to Gerrard over comments on Saka

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has hit back at Aston Villa boss, Steven Gerrard, over his comments on Bukayo Saka following the Gunners’ Premier League 1-0 win over Aston Villa last weekend.

Recall that Saka, who scored the only goal of the match as Arsenal defeated Aston Villa at Villa Park, said he was not happy with some of the tackles from Aston Villa’s players during the clash and even voiced his frustrations to the referee, Andrew Madley.

But Gerrard believes Saka should not have complained about the tackles he received from Aston Villa’s players, adding that he had 16 operations during his playing career.

And now Arteta has now hit back at Gerrard, insisting that Saka gave him what he felt on the pitch.

“He [Saka] probably gave him [Gerrard] what he felt on the pitch,” Arteta said as quoted by Mirror.

“I think the refs try to do their best, but we have to listen to the players. They are the reason why we’re all here,” he added.
