Former Manchester United manager, Louis van Gaal, has warned Ajax’s Erik ten Hag against taking the Old Trafford job.
Van Gaal believes Man United is a commercial club, adding that Ten Hag should instead coach at a “football club.”
DAILY POST reports that Ten Hag is among the leading candidates to become Man United’s next manager.
“I think Erik ten Hag is a great coach, he has shown that several times,” Van Gaal was quoted by Dutch outlet AD as saying.
“And a great coach is always good for Manchester United.”
He added, “Manchester United is a commercial club and those are difficult choices for a coach. It is better to go to a football club. I am not going to supervise his career and he will call me himself. But he should choose a football club, not a commercial club.”
