Former Chelsea midfielder, Andy Townsend has described the call for Frank Lampard’s sack as Everton manager as utterly ridiculous.
Townsend defended Lampard after a difficult start to life at Goodison Park for the former Chelsea midfielder.
Everton were beaten 4-0 by Crystal Palace who dumped them out of the FA Cup on Sunday.
And Lampard gave a damning assessment of his players after the match, questioning whether certain members of his squad have the ‘b*******’ to play.
And Townsend agrees that Lampard’s Everton stars are letting him down.
“It would be utterly ridiculous,” Townsend told talkSPORT.
“There comes a point where the players aren’t good enough to play each week.”
He believes Lampard has players in his ranks who aren’t good enough to play for the Toffees.
