Kano Pillars and Abia Warriors, both struggling to stay afloat, engage each other on match-day 14 of the Nigeria Professional Football League at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
It’s been a turbulent campaign for former champions Pillars, who find themselves closer to the bottom than to the top.
Sai Masu Gida, who are often contenders, occupy 16th position and are just four points away from the bottom of the league.
They’ve suffered three straight defeats, with the last in the hands of Wikki Tourists last Wednesday.
Things are no different for Warriors, who are just a position above Pillars with the same points (14) the same points but boast a better goals difference.
Goalkeeper Vincent Edafe says they are in Kaduna to inflict more pain on their hosts.
“We know we are not in a good position at the moment, but as a team our aim every time is to win and we are not going to Kaduna to look at the beauty of the city,” the shot-stopper told PUNCH Sports Extra.
