Liverpool assistant manager, Pep Lijnders, has confirmed striker, Roberto Firmino, will miss Sunday’s Carabao Cup final tie against Chelsea, due to injury.
Lijnders disclosed this on Friday during his pre-match press conference ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Chelsea.
He also revealed that Diogo Jota’s fitness was a ‘challenge’.
“Bobby won’t be available for the final,” Lijnders said.
“We have to see (his progress) in the next two or three days. He is pushing himself hard.”
The Carabao Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool will take place at Wembley Stadium.
The kick-off time for the match is 5.30 pm.
