Rangnick names Man Utd star that did his job against Wolves

Manchester United interim coach, Ralf Rangnick has identified defender Phil Jones as the player that did his job against Wolves on Monday night.

Rangnick said Jones did exactly what he expected him to do against Wolves at Old Trafford.

Jones, who has been out of action for two years due to injury, made a shock return to Man United’s starting XI against Wolves.

The 29-year-old centre-back was impressive against Wolves as David de Gea was able to keep the game level until Joao Moutinho scored the winner with nine minutes left to give the visitors all three points.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Rangnick said, “I think he [Phil Jones] did well, not having played for two years at this kind of level.

“We didn’t see that [effects of the absence] in the game.

“He did his job and did exactly what I expected him to do.”
