25-year-old Brazilian star returns to Chelsea

Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea have brought back Brazil international, Kenedy from his loan at Flamengo.

The club took the decision following an injury crisis in the full-back positions.

Kenedy, 25, has played just 15 Premier League games for the Blues, with his last coming in 2016.

Goal Brazil reports that the Brazilian is now heading back to London after loan spells at Watford, Newcastle, Getafe and Granada.

According to the report, Flamengo ‘fought’ to keep the player at the club but Tuchel wanted to bring him back to be part of the squad.

Marcus Aloso is currently the only fully fit full-back for Chelsea as Ben Chilwell is out for the season.

Club captain Cesar Azpilicueta was also withdrawn early from the 2-0 victory over Tottenham last week with an injury.

In recent matches, the Blues deploy Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic have all filled in on the flanks.

Chelsea’s efforts to recall Emerson Palmieri from his Lyon loan is not yielding any fruit with the Ligue 1 club reluctant to let their player go mid-season.

Kenedy joined Chelsea for £6million in 2015 but has failed to establish himself as first-team regular.

He has impressed in 10 appearances for Flamengo, who won the Brazilian title last season.
