Arsene Wenger Opens up on his Return to Arsenal, Joining PSG

Former Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger has opened up on his future after being linked with a return to the club.

Wenger has also been linked with taking up the sporting director role at Paris Saint-Germain.

But the Frenchman distanced himself from the speculation, describing the rumour as ‘pre-Christmas imagination’.

The 72-year-old left Arsenal in 2018 after 22 years and has been working as FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development for the last two years.

However, Wenger has been heavily linked with a return to Arsenal over recent weeks, with coach Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu talking about his return.

Various reports emanating from France, meanwhile, have named Wenger as a target for PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

“This is just the pre-Christmas imagination,” Wenger told RMC Sports when asked about the rumours.

“I do not know who came out with that, but there is nothing there.”

“I want to do well and when I am committed to something, I try to follow it through until the end,” he added.

“I have undertaken a project here to try to develop football around the world and there is a lot of work to do.

“Afterwards, I don’t know… but it’s true that there is absolutely nothing in that.”
