Algerian star and Lyon star, Islam Slimani has tipped Egyptian forward, Mohamed Salah to win the 2021 ballon d’Or award.
Salah appeared in the 30-man shortlist released by France Football for the individual award.
The winner will be announced on November 29 and Salah would become the second African player to lift the prize after former Liberian star, George Weah.
Asked if Salah can claim the prize, the former Leicester City forward said, “God willing, why not,” he told EuroSports.
“He [Salah] is an Arab player like us and represents Arabs everywhere. It is an honour for us Arabs to have an Arab player that is a Ballon d’Or nominee if it’s him or Riyad Mahrez.
“The most important is that he represents Arabs and the Muslim world.”
